The Seven Great Wanderers are a legendary and partially mythical group of extraordinarily powerful and influential Psions in the world of Kepler.
They embody the spirit of freedom and represent the ideal state of the current Age of the Wanderer, as dreamers call it. Scholars generally prefer the historical term Exodus Era.
Wanderers, Adventurers and Explorers
On Kepler, Wanderers, Adventurers, and Explorers are groups of individuals who aren’t part of the traditional employment hierarchy.
These individual paths have been the source of many tavern stories and folklore since recorded history, but gained widespread popularity and practical integration into society following the Convergence War.
While they often overlap in skill sets and underlying mindset, and are frequently conflated by many people, they differ fundamentally in their motivation, scope of influence, and relationship with the World Council and the rest of the world.
“Wanderer” is a title that carries immense weight on Kepler.
Most of them are vagabonds and stateless, free-spirited nomads who wander around looking for somewhere to settle or travel without affiliations.
The Journey and discovering one’s purpose are the driving factors behind becoming a Wanderer, but most Wanderers are restricted by reputation, distrust, and government regulations.
The capital-W Wanderers — the Seven Great Wanderers — are living legends. They are defined by their independence and impact.
They do not take orders and are not bound by government regulations; they force the world to react to them.
Shaping Global Affairs
They don’t just work jobs; they run empires or ideologies.
Wolfgang Jackolan: The richest man in Kepler, with a net worth of over 400 billion UK.
Giovanni Mari: The Wanderer of Creation and arguably once the most influential person in the world.
Maintaining and Breaking Balance
Great Wanderers can act as checks and balances against even the World Council itself, or counterbalance unconventional anomalies like themselves or the Walking Calamity.
Defining Culture
They set trends, inspire religions, or become absorbed into folklore and horror stories.
Adventurers are the working class of the freelance world.
They are mostly people who look for wealth or power through daring or unusual paths.
They operate within the system, usually licensed by guilds or local governments to handle dangerous but necessary tasks.
They are driven by profit and reputation and are heavily regulated.
The experience and wealth are the driving factors for many who pursue adventuring.
Resource Retrieval
Collecting rare materials such as Psine-reactive crystals and herbs from the Stratas 1–50 of the Labyrinths.
Quests
Accepting guild quests and other contracted missions.
Specialized Odd Jobs
Handling unpleasant or niche tasks such as deep-sewer maintenance, grave-digging, animal capture, or toxic waste disposal.
Escort and Logistics
Protecting trade caravans, delivering urgent mail or messages across dangerous regions, and acting as high-end bodyguards.
Explorers are the intellectuals and trailblazers.
They are driven by curiosity and the thrills of discovery.
Unlike Adventurers, who mostly only go where the money is, Explorers go where the maps end.
They are often vital for expanding civilization or recovering lost history.
Cartography
Creating maps of uncharted territories, especially the shifting geography of the Dynamic Sea or the deep Labyrinth levels.
Ruins Investigation
Studying locations from the Pre-Convergence Era to recover lost technology or history.
Route Finding
Discovering new, safe passages through dangerous territories such as the Furen-Gela Sea or the deep underground tunnels connecting nations.
Xenobiology
Studying the strange flora and fauna of the different Climate Zones.
In taverns across Kepler, people trade their epithets over ale — The Plant Walker, The Salamander, The Wanderer of Creation — but most ordinary people treat them as exaggerated myths or ghost stories.
The Seven Great Wanderers are given honorary Green Id status by the World Council, meaning they are allowed entry into all recognized states and territories and access past the 50th Strata of the Labyrinths with little to no restrictions.
This was the Council’s bid to prevent needless confrontation.
If the World Council went to war with a Great Wanderer, they could lose key assets, including powerful figures such as commanders or generals, or a huge portion of its weaker and lower-ranked forces.
Such a conflict could also result in the destruction of important territories, the deaths of many innocent civilians, and an overall hit to the Council’s global reputation.
Questions linger: Do all seven even exist at the same time? Are they hiding in the deepest Labyrinths, or walking unrecognized among commoners?
There have been multiple generations of Great Wanderers.
Many believe Lady Lalume was once one of the original Seven Great Wanderers.
Vlad von Dracula is remembered as an original folk hero and Great Wanderer tied to Strigoi pride in Sang.
The founder of Jureslavia is believed to also have been one of the Seven Great Wanderers.
One of the Seven Great Wanderers from the Convergence War era, Mr. ████████, helped consolidate treaties and legitimize the World Council’s authority among the Strigois.
The Modern Resurgence
The modern resurgence is heavily linked to Giovanni Mari.
Born in 246 XE in Holy Metzia to ordinary Tool-grade adventurer parents, he left home on August 30, 259 XE at 13, driven by wanderlust.
Less than two weeks later, he officially earned the title of Great Wanderer on September 11, 259 XE — becoming the first of the new era.
Many credit his exploits with rekindling global exploration and helping birth the current Seven.
Public information is incomplete and filtered through sources such as The Rumor Mill.
Giovanni Mari
The Wanderer of Creation, The First of the Seven, The Uncrowned King, The Hero of Curia, Giovanni the Great.
Nuclear-grade Psion whose ability, Atom Genesis, creates matter and phenomena.
He was renowned for precision and restraint rather than raw domination.
He was the first Great Wanderer to formally join a government institution.
Wolfgang Jackolan
One of the Seven and the richest man on Kepler.
He runs the massive Jackolan Corporation in Sang.
He and Giovanni met in Sang during the Petofi-Kiss War era, became close friends and rivals, attended Ashura Grando University together, and continued their legendary rivalry and travels through the late 260s–270s before Wolfgang returned to Sang.
Giovanni considers him one of his only true friends who understands the ideals of freedom and discovery.
Miracles the Plant Walker
The youngest of the known Seven Great Wanderers.
She possessed the potential to rank among the most powerful Psions ever recorded.
She is rumored to have lived in exile since the Calamity of Curia.
Dreyk Ignis — The Salamander
Another of the Seven.
A Hybrid Strigoi, he killed previous C-BAR General Musashi Amakusa in 280 XE.
Giovanni defeated and imprisoned him at Warden’s Maw in 288 XE.
He escaped during the catastrophic March 1, 299 XE breach of Warden’s Maw and has not been tracked since.
The 7th Wanderer / “The Boogeyman”
Title and epithet only; true name and exact ability unknown.
Rumored ability: peer into minds and manifest worst nightmares.
Others question whether The Boogeyman truly exists.
The Rumor Mill advises: “Pray you never find out.”
Oksana Ivanov
Associate of the Seven Great Wanderers and a Jureslavic diplomat colloquially known as “The Eight Great Wanderer.”
The Great Wanderers sit at the intersection of exploration, raw power, myth, and geopolitics.
They operate largely outside or on the edges of the formal structures of the Ten Great Sovereigns and the World Council.
Giovanni’s recruitment into the Continental Border Assault Regiment marked a major shift.
Their deeds — charting the lowest Stratas of the Labyrinths, uncovering pre-Convergence ruins, and clashing with anomalous threats like Tulburo Lume — fuel both inspiration and fear.
In the current timeline, around 299 XE, after the fall of Warden’s Maw and the release of Tulburo Lume, “The Walking Calamity,” and other high-threat prisoners, several Wanderers are either retired, politically embedded, in exile, or unaccounted for, operating in deep shadow.
This leaves the group fragmented at a moment of extreme global instability.
The incomplete public knowledge is intentional in the world’s design: half myth, half living force.
The deeper one digs into Kepler’s webs of causality, the more the Wanderers appear as both products and drivers of the era’s chaos and possibility.
