Jureslavia is one of the Ten Great Sovereigns.

It is said the oldest continuous state on Kepler and the birthplace of Lalumism. It is a homogeneous Strigoi nation whose political life is shaped by clergy, communal institutions, guild culture, and religious custom. Its legitimacy comes from continuity with an ancient faith rather than from the revolutionary reconstruction associated with the World Council.

Its defining geographic feature is its position in the southern and western Everfall region, with parts of the country reaching toward Alwinter.

Its defining political tension is the balance between religious communalism and external security. Jureslavia joins Hordad and Evelyn in the Horeslavlyn Block, but it must also operate inside the World Council’s hierarchy and protect its religious autonomy.

Geography & Climate

Jureslavia is the southernmost nation on the Western Continent and is almost entirely in the Everfall Zone. The Everfall Zone winds give Jureslavia cool, dry conditions; Alwinter creates a southern frontier of severe cold and reflective ice.

The Alba Luli River

The Alba Luli River is the longest river on Kepler, which runs through southern Sang and across northern Jureslavia and into the Southern Strait. It is a major religious landmark because Lalumist pray toward it.

Northern and central settlements cluster around river systems, guild towns, woodland resources, and protected routes. In the south, houses are built along the Jureslavic mountains.

Mount Karpati

The southern coastline of Jureslavia is home to some of the highest mountain ranges on Kepler, including Mount Karpati, the highest mountain on Kepler, reaching a height of 35,000 feet.

This makes Jureslavia a must-visit destination for Explorers and Wanderers alike.

Architecture in Jureslavia favors thick walls, communal halls, wood and stone craft, dry storage, and structures designed to withstand Raging Fall winds and Raging Winter cold.

Government & Politics

Jureslavia is governed by a Lalumist clergy. The clergy select the Archon, who is regarded as the most expert, worthy, or divinely favored candidate.

The arrangement is neither hereditary monarchy nor direct democracy. Authority comes from religious selection and communal legitimacy.

The economy’s distributist structure reinforces this model: guilds distribute productive ownership rather than concentrating it in a corporate or aristocratic class.

Jureslavia is an original World Council recognized sovereign state since January 1st, 1 XE, but has existed in its current form for over 800 years.

It receives the highest protection priority from the Continental Border Assault Regiment and must fund the regiment.

Jureslavia is said to have been founded by one of the original Seven Great Wanderers, though much is not known about him. Many believe that he walked Kepler at the same time as the Goddess Lalume herself, as some of his ventures were mentioned in the Holy Book Lenore, written by the scribe Petar Blagojevich.

Economic Overview

The Jureslavic economy operates according to the principles of distributism.

Trade guilds form the backbone of the Jureslavic economy, distributing productive ownership and economic activity throughout guild-based communities.

Relationship with the Continental Border Assault Regiment

Jureslavia supports C-BAR as a defensive institution while it resists any intelligence work that appears to target Lalumist clergy or communal autonomy. Its alliance with Hordad and Evelyn gives it an alternative security network if World Council legitimacy declines.

History

Ancient Lalumist Foundation

Jureslavia is the birthplace of Lalumism, a faith approximately one thousand years old that predates modern sovereign borders. Its earliest political identity is therefore older than the World Council and older than the current national map.

The Horeslavlyn Block

Jureslavia joins Hordad and Evelyn in the Horeslavlyn Block. The alliance is designed to protect Strigoi and Lalumist states if the World Council collapses.

The 299 XE Crisis

The return of Tulburo Lume carries religious implications. Pentagonist sects interpret him as a possible reincarnation of Ligeia, while Lalumist communities have their own ideas of balance, death, and the void.

Jureslavia’s clergy view Tulburo’s escape as a sign of divine retribution unleashed upon a world drowning in sin and views the World Council as fundamentally unstable.

Culture & Society

Jureslavia is 100% Strigoi and has a population of approximately fifty million. Its social life emphasizes craftsmanship, ceremony, guilds, communal identity, and religious customs.

Lalumism is the official state religion. Rituals include daily prayer toward the Alba Luli River, the Crimson Requiem on March 15, Wax Confessions, the Silent Hunt, and the Clearing of the Bough.

Crescent

Crescent’s themes of restraint, hidden information, attrition, and sudden reversal fit Jureslavic ritual culture.

Jureslavic houses favor the standard rule set, treating the Crescent trap as a lesson about attacking what one does not understand. Communal establishments use the Sky as a respected neutral judge, while clerical institutions forbid high-stakes gambling variants.

The Solar Eclipse configuration—Light over Shadow, with attack determined by the Light card and defense by the hidden Shadow card—carries symbolic meaning in a Lalumist society that treats visible action and hidden spiritual consequence as linked.

Jureslavia’s relationship with Normans and Espers is purely diplomatic and cordial. The only nations whose delegates truly hate each other may be the Neo-Cartaist Espers of Holy Metzia and the Lalumist Strigois of Jureslavia.
